El Departamento del Tesoro impuso sanciones a tres altos funcionarios del gobierno de Hugo Chávez por ayudar a las FARC.
Se trata del ex ministro Rodríguez Chacín, del Director de la DISIP, Gral Henry Rangel Silva y de Hugo Carvajal, Director de la DIM:

WASHINGTON, sep 12 . - El Departamento del Tesoro de Estados Unidos dijo el viernes que impuso sanciones a dos funcionarios de alto rango del Gobierno de Venezuela por suministrar ayuda a las rebeldes Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FRAC).
El Tesoro informó que las medidas congelan los activos de los funcionarios en Estados Unidos y prohibe a los estadounidenses las transacciones con ellos.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- As tensions mounted between the United States and Venezuela, the U.S. Treasury on Friday designated three top Venezuelan officials as supporters of FARC, the Colombian narco-terrorist group. Two of the officials -- Hugo Armando Carvajal Barrios and Henry de Jesus Rangel Silva -- are top officials in Venezuelan intelligence. The third man, Ramon Emilio Rodriguez Chacin, was minister of interior and justice until this week. The U.S. said Chacin met with FARC members in the Venezuelan capital to arrange a $250 million loan for FARC. The Treasury action freezes U.S. assets of the three men, and prohibits any U.S. person or company from doing any business with them. On Thursday, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez threw out the U.S. ambassador and threatened to cut off all his country's oil shipments to the United States if Washington acted aggressively.
